Health and Safety

Folbigg Fabrications Ltd acknowledges and accepts its statutory responsibility for securing the health, safety and welfare of all its employees and others involved with the activities of the company. The company recognises this responsibility as a fundamental duty amongst others for the successful operation of the business.  We are committed to providing a safe environment in which we work, and for those affected by our work. Our employees are regularly updated with safety news, training, current and new legislation.

Health and Safety Policy

Folbigg Fabrications Ltd will take steps, so far as is reasonably practicable, to meets its health and safety responsibilities, paying particular attention to:  

  • Provide and maintain plant and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health.

  • (The company continuously invests in the latest technology to ensure safe, high quality and efficient plant).

  • Make arrangements for ensuring the safe use, handling, storage and transport of “articles and substances” which are inherently or potentially dangerous.

  • Assess, and limit the risks to health, caused by all substances and systems of work used at these premises and to inform the relevant employees of the results of this assessment and the nature of the risk.

  • Monitor on a regular basis the risks to health, caused by substances and systems of work used at the premises. This monitoring will be done as an on-going concern.

  • Provide comprehensive information, instruction, training and supervision, to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of every employee. 

  • Maintain the work place in a safe and risk-free condition and the provision of safe means of access to, and egress from the work place.

  • Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment with adequate welfare facilities and arrangements.

It is also the duty of every employee to:-

  • Conduct themselves in a safe and healthy way so as not to expose to risk any other employee and;

  • To co-operate with the company in every way so as to enable the company to discharge its duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

An extensive Health and Safety Contractor manual outlining policies and procedures in this area has been developed, in consultation with all employees and is audited and updated on an ongoing basis.  All equipment and plant is audited every three months by Bureau Veritas and Folbigg is open to inspection for supplier audits.

We have a public liability insurance cover of £10,000,000 and fully IPAF trained staff with welding coding to British Standards.  Safety is paramount and we have qualified first aiders should the need arise.
